WHO I AM
Mom, Wife, Nurse Practitioner, IBCLC
I'm Tabitha and I have been a nurse for 14Â years, and a family nurse practitioner for 9Â years. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in 2010 from Hope College. I worked as a staff nurse on the cardiac floor, ICU, and ER while going back to school. I graduated from Georgetown University with my Master's degree in 2014. I currently work in a family practice office and love what I do!
MY BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY
My breastfeeding journey started after having my son. He was born premature, and I desperately wanted to breastfeed. I was fortunate enough to have lactation help while in the NICU, but didn't feed him at the breast until we were settled in at home. This was the time I needed support the most, and I felt alone trying to figure out being a new mom and breastfeeding.
As an IBCLC and mom of a NICU graduate, I understand the weight and frustration of needing help, but not knowing where to turn to first. That’s why my mission is simple: helping parents feed their babies! This can look like chest/breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or a combination of breast milk and formula. I want to give my clients the tools and resources that they need to have the best experience. And of course, give the nutrition that their baby needs to grow and develop.
